Fennyariel , Feb 11, At the main menu, you can selct if you want codes or not but a memory card is required, take out the gameshark disc and put in your backup disc. When you open the tray of the PSX in the upper right corner there's a small piece of plastic that goes into a small hole. When you close the tray the little piece of plastic will go into the hole pressing down a small switch. Place a piece of bluetack ontop of the small piece of plastic so that when you open the tray the switch stays down cheating the PSX to think the tray is still closed.
Now this requires some timing: wait untill the region code is loaded into the PSX during the splash screen and quickly open the tray and insert your back-up. Close the tray and hope it worked! Sometimes you need to tray several times to make it work InsaneNutter , Feb 11, The problem is specific to PS2 games burned to a disc.
Multiman will pick it up right away, however, title and all, even sometimes downloading the cover art. Attempting to launch the game from Multiman will cause the PS2 Format Disc to appear if it did not before. From here, clicking on that icon, however it appeared, will cause my PS3 to go to a black screen and lock up, sometimes even needing to be killed with the switch. A note about my setup, given that it is non-standard as well. I am currently limited to a very cheap, old laptop that can just about be persuaded to run Debian 9.

It uses backup and restore method after preparing each game. Whit the Free McBoot you can load games from a pendrive. If you want to load burned disks you must have installed a chip in your PS2; in my case, I have the Matrix Infinity and it works perfectly.
